Motivated by the promptings of the Holy Spirit and driven by our encounters with the Lord Jesus the parishioners of Holy Family Church seek to build the kingdom of God through our faithful and reverent worship in the Sacred Liturgy and our dedicated service to the poor and the little ones of the world. Thank you for visiting our home on the web and please consider learning more about who we are, where we are and how we love the Lord.
Holy Family was established in 1877 just west of downtown Columbus Ohio in the historic area known as Franklinton. Holy Family thrives because of the many good people who have come to know the Lord, love the Lord and serve the Lord here in our parish. Our parish offers a great number of opportunities to grow in holiness through our many apostolates of charity and communities of love.
Our parish membership is just over 500 families. The experience of the Sacred Liturgy and a faithful community draws members of faithful from literally all over central Ohio.
The parish Church of Holy Family hosts several popular devotions throughout the year which draw thousands of pilgrims to the sacraments. These devotions include our weekly St. Anthony of Padua Devotions on Tuesday after the 12:15 Mass, our monthly 9am First Saturday Mass and confessions, our yearly devotion to the Sorrowful Mother through our Good Friday Vigil with the Holy Virgin, our Divine Mercy Sunday Devotions with confessions, our yearly St. Anthony of Padua Feast Day Mass and Festival, and our Sorrowful Mother Novena in September.
Holy Family operates a soup kitchen for up to 200 people each day (Monday through Friday) in which they can obtain lunch bags and carry-out hot meals, in addition to personal hygiene, canned goods and box items, and new or gently used shoes and clothing for themselves and family members. In addition to our incredible outreach to the hungry and the poor, we also offer outreach to the senior citizens of the area through exercise classes and healthy living seminars.
Holy Family Parish has survived major floods (1913 and 1957), a fire in the mid-1950’s, and the incursion of three freeways. We remain a vibrant parish with a variety of activities and organizations to meet the needs and interests of all ages.
In the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit we welcome you to our parish of the Holy Family!
